Sooooo trying post things on a regular basis, I swear I have a post ready but it being Ramadan I am a bit slow!!!! :S
I had actually got it ready as a draft but forgot to post it  for December, last year :s :s … D’oh!!!!!

Rabbit Toy/Accessories Review

Another Review!

I thought I'd write another review but on a few things I got my pet bunny, an albino (white haired red eyed, Breed - New Zealand) adorable loving cuddly bunny.

I got her the following items as a treat....well just coz I love this cuddly bun bun so much.

With much hunting I managed to find some stuff for said bunny, I found it a bit difficult to get any toys for rabbits in Dubai as I don't think they are a popular pet here or there is a lot more edible treats like fruit and seeds sticks than toys.

Using an on-line based pet store, Petz Plaza, http://www.dubaipetstore.com, I bought:

• Alex Timothy Ball

• Alex Timothy Log 

• Alex Timothy Hay & Edible Herbs Tunnel (the pic on the left is the tunnel I gave to my bunny, as you can see she has already eaten some of the herbs and hay = thoroughly enjoying it :D)

• Fruit Wood chews for rabbits (V.I.P - Very Important Pet) - 5 in a pack, I gave her a dark pink one

• Boredom Breaker Options Small Pet (Rosewood) Deluxe Nail clippers

• Whirly Gig from Pet Stages (Cat Toy)

I also bought her Boredom Breaker Options Small Animal Mini Grooming (Rosewood) set which includes 3 different brushes - one to give her a shiny coat, one to remove loose & dead hair and one to remove tangles/knots.

This nifty set I got from a store called World of Pets (in Dubai Mall and Al Barsha opposite Lulu Hypermaket, near Mall of the Emirates).
Have to admit only been using one - brush to remove loose and dead hair as she is shedding loads at the moment (middle brush in the above photo).

I have found that it successfully removes all the loose and dead hair from her coat and it is a perfect size for me to grip, it fits nicely in my hand not too small and not big at all. I definitely recommend this product for your small pet. Even better is you can buy each of the 3 brushes separately if  you don't need all of them.
Have in mind, depending on how much your pet is shedding it will take a few brushes to remove most of the loose hair, it has been advised to brush your pet once to twice a day - especially when shedding.

One other thing I want to mention, be careful and gentle when brushing your pet, with the brush that has bristles like the one in the photo below, as I have found that once most of the loose and dead hair has been removed from my bunny's coat, she became a bit sensitive to the brush's bristles so I just did it gently in between stroking her to soothe her otherwise I stopped and then started again. This may be also due to the fact that she wasn't in the mood to get brushed so I tend to brush her at least every other day as you have to remove the dead hair otherwise hairballs will form, and unlike cats, rabbits can not cough them up, therefore the dead hair can cause serious digestive problems.

Andddddd I feel I get to spend more time with my rabbit this way - good for her and me!!

Nail clippers (see above for photo) I found them to be very efficient and precise, sharp enough to cut my bunny's nails.  Make sure you stroke/pet your bunny to relax them and gave little breaks in between as it can be quite stressful for your bunny, my bunny did have her moments where she wasn't having it, aside from that I totally would recommend these as well.

Apart from these I have only given her the Whirly Gig Cat toy and the Alex Timothy Hay and Edible Tunnel and a V.I.P Fruit wood chew as I wanted to rotate the toys that I give her. She took time to notice that they were there but as soon as she did she was munching on the edible tunnel and throwing and moving the cat toy.

I know, I know it is a cat toy but I checked with the store and they said I could get it for my rabbit, I thought it would be something interesting and not too expensive for Sushi (yep that's is my bunny's name).

The V.I.P Fruit wood chew (5 in a pack and different flavours) she nudged a few times but hasn't really taken a liking to it, so I removed it from her exercise pen (which is what I keep her in during the day as it is too hot outside at the moment, then I take her out in the evening when it is cooler for a few hours to get some exercise), her fur picked up the dark pink colour of the wood block :D so she had pink feet, nose and dewlap (the extra skin and fur under her chin, trait in female rabbits) = sooooo adorable though, but I let her do her own cleaning as did not want to subject her to unnecessary bathes and therefore stress her out especially as it was just a safe food dye colour.

I also got her favourite - treat sticks with apple and rice from witte molen.

As you can see I have only given her one so far, as a treat as too much can cause stomach upset in your bunny. There are other varieties available like a mix of nuts, honey and seeds.
My bunny loooooves these she managed to consume one quite quickly so a definite hit with her!

One last mention (recommend as well) is the Savic Dog Park 3 - 61cm (width) x 107cm (height) and 8 panels - enough space for her to move around and do her bunny flops as well as allowing me to come and sit and spend time with her, cut her nails and brush her etc. in a safe enclosed space without her running off and chewing something that she is not supposed to. I do let her out in the garden when it is cooler for a few hours so she gets a stretch once to twice a day as well as in the house under supervision but the exercise pen is her 'home base' (where she sleeps and eats and poops ^.^) as I have found store bought cages are way to small. I went for 107 cm in height as I was afraid when I leave my bunny in the night or unattended she will jump over the pen (but have been told rabbits don't jump this high) - she is a cheeky bunny who has learnt to jump onto the sofa (into our laps haha). I do add a level like a low stool under supervision to exercise her back legs and then remove it in the night so she cannot jump out of the pen.
Only downside is it takes up quite a bit of space in the house but I still prefer this to a store bought cage any day!

So my total amount spent? Well msg me if you want to know that :P but every Dirham was worth it to make this lovely critter a happy bunny!!!!!!!!!!

The next thing I would want to get for her is the Alex Rabbit Wooden Stick Tunnel as I have heard good reviews about this product so fingers crossed I find it soon!

I will try and do an update review, once I have tried or rather to say my bunny has tried, the other items in my list.

I hope this review helps in buying things for your pet rabbit - please let me know if you have any suggestions for inexpensive toys for pet rabbits as well,  I will love to check them out.

There are of course home items, such as empty card board boxes, tissue boxes with the plastic removed and kitchen paper towel roll (which my bunny also loves to nibble on).
